Skil Lithium Ion Power Cutter – Review

SKIL Power Cutter top

SKIL Lithium Ion Power Cutter is more than a gadget

You know what I really hate?  I hate those ridiculously difficult to open molded plastic packages that house half the products hanging on any store shelf.  Opening those little suckers is one of the most difficult tasks on Planet Earth.  NOT ANYMORE.  Enter the Skil Lithium Ion Cutting Tool.

Materials that it cuts:

For such a little gadget, it really does a great job cutting various materials, like carpet, wrapping paper, cardboard, and according to Skil, vinyl flooring, although I didn’t test it on the vinyl flooring, but I would imagine it would since it had no problem with the carpet.  This is a good tool to keep in your kitchen drawer, or to hang in your workshop with the handy hanging hole in the end.   You can charge it and leave it for up to 18 months and it keeps the charge and is ready to use at anytime.   That way, when you bring one of those plastic packages home, you’re ready to win the battle this time.

SKIL Lithium Ion Power Cutter

Tool features:

It has a battery gauge so you will know when it’s running low on juice, and an auto sharp blade to for precision cutting every time.  It weighs in at less than a pound, so there’s no fatigue factor there.  The only issue I had with the tool was the placement of the safety in conjunction with the trigger.  I felt that for someone with small hands, it was a bit awkward, but doable.

Final thoughts:

I have literally picked this tool up hundreds of times.  You’ll be surprised how often you’ll be in the middle of a task and think the SKIL Lithium Ion Power Cutter is the perfect tool for the job!  I give it two thumbs up!
