During the 2012 Media Event at Milwaukee Tools, we were treated to a glimpse of this gem. The Milwaukee M12 Cable Cutter makes what looks almost like magic as it cuts through stranded wire. Granted, it’s not a tool you’re likely to use everyday (unless you’re in the trade, of course), but it’s one of those that definitely makes an impression.

The M12 600MCM Cordless Cable Cutter is truly an engineering masterpiece from a functional standpoint. It makes what was once a job that required tremendous strength and/or leverage, much more manageable. I dare say – even fun – at least for the first several hundred cuts.

The tool’s ratcheting jaws create up to 5000 pounds of pressure to slice through cable thicker than your thumb. Beyond that, it’s simply amazing to watch, especially when you realize it’s a measly little 12 volt battery running the show. My, how technology has changed.
